~ John and Elizabeth ~ Baby on the way ~

"Theres a first time for everything in life" the saying goes...

Sometimes our first times go badly, like the first time we try to walk, or get on a bike..... and then sometimes they go really well. We are never guaranteed a smooth outcome but as a Christian, we are guaranteed help.
Philippians 4:13
"I can do all things through Him who strengthens me"

 and

2 Corinthians 12:9
"But He said to me 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weakness, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

John and Elizabeth. Days go by, they anticipate the birth of their very own and FIRST tater tot.
I don't know what he'll look like. I don't know whether he will get his mommy's red hair or his daddy's brown eyes. I don't know what his personality will be. Whether he will be a full throttle, adventures ahead little boy or if he will be the kind to sit quietly and play with whatever he is given, read books, listen intently.....markings of a deep thinker...one day become a theologian?! I don't know.....but God does.  One thing I do know: that this little soul is a blessed little soul to have these two as his parents. John and Elizabeth, you both are going to be wonderful parents.... you already are. Thankful that the Lord is sovereign and cares for each and every soul He creates.

Mathew 6:26 (This whole chapter is excellent)
"Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap, not gather into barns. and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?"

The thought of holding your child for the "first time" seems a bit magical.  Soon these hands will no longer be separated from that soft baby skin. Those sweet cheeks will finally be able to be kissed. Those big eyes will finally see mommy and daddy. And so with mommy and daddy, baby's face will no longer be a mystery. Soon they will memorize every wrinkle.... every curve.

I love Colorado! Kinda pretty huh?! ;) I feel so blessed to get to take these three(!) beautiful peoples pictures..... and in Colorado no less.

This beautiful woman here is my sister-in-law.

Its like a photographers dream! Pretty sister! A pretty not just seen on the outside...but in the inward beauty her soul holds. And that beauty is beautiful because of Who put it there.
Not to mention my husband has two other gorgeous sisters....and NIECES.....AND yet another sister-in-law to be, coming this Saturday! And then I have his mother and my mother. Oh my. Also on my side......gorgeous sister....gorgeous sister-in-laws and MORE nieces. And this is just the pretty side...I haven't even mentioned the handsome side. ;)

The Lord has richly blessed me as a photographer. People. Different faces, different skin, different smiles. I love it.

~ Jack H. ~ 80th Birthday ~

I have precious grandparents. Both sides.

Grandparents are a pretty amazing gift from God. So often we take them for granted as "Alright, candy! Alright, an extra $20 on my birthday! etc" And we often don't treasure the gift that they truly are.

I love sitting back and watching my grandparents interact with others and each other. They will have been married 60 years come this June! Wow! I praise and thank God for that. What an example! I see their love for one another and it's worth imitating.

I ALSO love sitting back and listening to all their stories! Funny, emotional, or the ones where they learned something.....and want to pass it onto you so you don't do the same thing. I was privileged to get to be at my Grandpa's 80th birthday this past March. My husband and I sang, all the cousins visited, and good food was to be had (Thanks to Grandpa Jack and Grandma Jo for that! SO generous!).

My mother was her usual self..... she made everything look flawless. Bringing some spring and sunshine into the room where we were celebrating life!

So, what I said about grandparents, yea it can definitely apply to parents as well. So, maybe, just maaaaaybe I am a bit biased....but the truth is the truth, I have basically the best parents there ever was. :D I can't believe how amazing they are! I can't imagine having...let alone wanting anyone else to be my parents.

Yes,yes, and YES! It's all true. I've been MIA. I haven't picked up a camera for a REAL photo-shoot for quite sometime now. But I had a good friend come to visit me last week in my new home....yes, I got married and have completely changed locations! We went on a photo-shoot. This is my precious, beautiful friend Jess. :)
